Bonilla, Singleton honored
Two Rutherford County Colleges lecturers have been honored for mentorship of student academics.
David Bonilla of Whitworth-Buchanan Middle and Brooke Singleton of Rock Springs Elementary had been both of those honored as Mentor Teachers of Excellence, a new award created by Middle Tennessee Point out University.
“We desired to say thank you to the lecturers whose lecture rooms we get the job done in,” reported Shannon Harmon, affiliate professor of training at MTSU. “And who welcome us and our (university student) instructor candidates with open arms.”
Bonilla was offered with the middle faculty award, and Singleton received the early childhood award.
The honor was made to acknowledge mentor instructors and commend them for their commitment to the craft.
Winners for the Mentor Instructor of Excellence award are selected by a committee, who job interview instruction college students to discover about mentor instructors who are welcoming, educating and pushing new trainer candidates to higher stages of results.
“I imagine teaching is a thing that you can tumble in really like with executing,” Bonilla stated. “But section of that comes from the guidance you’re specified in those tough moments. I hope to be somebody who can support other individuals and enable them to slide in enjoy with educating.”
Singleton also observed how acquiring help is crucial, as properly as her appreciate for the mentor plan when acquiring her award.
“As an MTSU alumna, it is so fulfilling to be acknowledged for successes from the program that deepened my enthusiasm for instruction and shaped me into who I am as a trainer.”
The committee at MTSU plans to keep on recognizing mentor instructors by presenting the award future yr.
