SkillsUSA Devils Lake brings home 16 medals

DEVILS LAKE – Members of the SkillsUSA university student group at the Lake Spot Occupation & Technologies Centre in Devils Lake recently competed at the 48th annual SkillsUSA Condition Management and Expertise Meeting held in Wahpeton, ND.

There were around 400 college students from across the condition competing in 37 distinctive activities.

Eighteen pupils from the LACTC competed in 9 unique situations and the Devils Lake chapter brought dwelling 16 medals – 4 Gold, 8 Silver, and 4 Bronze.

The bronze medals were awarded to Hallie Fritel in the Professional medical Terminology contest, Jenna Gerhardt in Nurse Assisting, and one particular Quiz Bowl workforce consisting of members Paris Cavanaugh and Felicity Erickstad.

The silver medalists had been Haley Duncan in Medical Terminology, Hallie Fritel in Associated Complex Math, Quin Haugland in Initially Support/CPR, Brynn Lacina for Extemporaneous Talking, and a single of our Wellness Know-how Bowl groups consisting of users Rebekah Widmer, Bridgette Harkness, Lily Stokke, and Brynn Lacina.

The 4 gold medals went to Rebekah Widmer in Professional medical Math, Bridgette Harkness in Medical Terminology, Haley Duncan in Nurse Helping, and Mattyson Ertelt for Task Job interview.

Other notable finishes had been 4th position in Initial Aid/CPR for Cassandra Christensen, 4th for Zoee Devier in Work Job interview, 4th for Quin Haugland in Associated Technical Math, and 4th for a single other Overall health Expertise Bowl staff consisting of Zoee Devier, Madison Svedberg, and Felicity Erickstad.

The gold medal winners will all get a $1000 scholarship to Lake Region Point out College and are now eligible to compete at the Countrywide SkillsUSA Meeting held June 20-24, 2022, in Atlanta, Ga. The learners, together with their advisor, Marla Luehring, will be fundraising to support defray the cost of the upcoming vacation. Marla is very proud of ALL of the students’ achievements and their amazing illustration of Devils Lake at the State Conference.
