High School Students Become Emotional After Receiving Full-Ride Scholarship To College

Hope Chicago, a nonprofit group, is sending 4,000 Chicago substantial university learners to higher education for cost-free. The firm, started by entrepreneur Pete Kadens and businessman Ted Koenig, is partnering with 20 schools and systems to cover tuition, area and board, textbooks, charges and surcharges for pupils.

Kadens, who started the charity immediately after finding success in the cannabis industry, retired in 2018 at age 40. The entrepreneur said education has been the vital to his success.

The initiatives not only aids students, but also their mother and father and guardians.

The mom-daughter pair of Adrianne Burnett and Cayla Howard are amongst these benefiting from the program. Burnett stated she was stunned when she read that the scholarship would fork out for her daughter to go to university, as well as herself.

“Honestly, I was not sure if I was likely to choose it. I just preferred my daughter to take the comprehensive edge of it and go to school. But she pushed me. She’s the cause I took it,” Burnett stated, in accordance to CBS Information.
